In-person events & book snippet <3
W/ Tia Williams at The Ripped Bodice, signed copies+ launch dress :)
Hi, hello :)
It’s been longer than expected, and I want to say I was sucked into a dark editing cave for book 2 (codename B&B), but honestly, even though I’ve been busy, it was my best editing experience for all my books thus far. The book is fun and silly and a little creepy too! I found myself laughing out loud while working through the scenes (I don’t know if readers think i’m funny at all but that didn’t stop me lol).
I turned that in and, for the first time, didn’t go into a two week slump of exhaustion. In fact, I started working on two new projects, one with a writing partner (hehe) and the other with the hopes that it’ll be my next book(s) after A Love Like the Sun and codename B&B.
Since B&B is in with both my US and UK editors right now (send good thoughts that they don’t find any major flaws with this draft), I wanted to post another snippet of my hotel room sharing, sarcastic babies:
“But when we break apart from him, I pull out my phone to text: Did you find somewhere to stay tonight? Or will you reacquaint yourself with your favorite couch?
I know you miss me already, and thanks for the offer, he replies. But I’m not spending another night with you.”
(: Short because I can’t share much, but so excited to be able to talk about them soon.
And currently, even more excited to share A Love Like the Sun things! The preorder campaign pictures and information are coming in a separate newsletter this week or next so please look out for that if you want goodies with a signed copy of the book from one of my favorite local indie stores- Heartleaf Books in Providence. <3
+With only 5 weeks left until Publication, I wanted to announce my launch events:
I’m so excited about each of these, especially blessed with great in-conversation partners, and hope to see some of you there! The Ripped Bodice event in Brooklyn with Tia William’s (GAHHH, I’m pinching myself) will be ticketed, so watch out for that info on TRB webpage, my socials or here. I’ll post about it as soon as I get a link.
The Riffraff event will be party style the way I usually do my launch events, so if you’re near R.I and want to come, expect music, food and drinks on a Tuesday haha.
Fun stuff: I am currently picking cute outfits for the events. Here’s one that was posted yesterday by the incredibly talented dressmaker Jacqueline Firkins, who surprised me with it after reading SUN. I’m obsessed. It’s even more stunning in person. You can find more pictures on our IG pages: mine and Jacqueline's. She makes gorgeous bookish dresses so please consider following her.
And lastly, there’s a giveaway on Goodreads still going on for A Love Like the Sun if you want to enter here
More soon & thanks for reading!
